Weekly jazz nights
The Southern Jazz Club holds weekly jazz nights with great bands from around South Australia (and sometimes further abroad).
Weekly meetings are held on Tuesday evenings – members $10, non-members $15 (except special events)
The Highway, on the corner of Marion Rd and Anzac Hwy, Plympton SA
Doors open from 6:30 p.m. with bands starting at 7:30 p.m.
Meals available from 6:30 p.m.

South Australian Jazz Archive public seminars

THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN JAZZ ARCHIVE Inc
holds two free public seminars
in the SCOTS CHURCH Admin Centre
on the corner of North Terrace & Pulteney Street, Adelaide;
At 2pm Jim Smith presents ‘A History of the Southern Jazz Group’;
Then at 3pm Darrell Coggins will trace the history of blues guitar and its influence on Jazz.

Adelaide-born and trained, Errol Buddle – reeds, flute, bassoon, oboe – formed the famous Australian Jazz Quartet/Quintet based in Detroit 1954 – 1959 – then became an icon of Australian jazz based in Sydney.
The Schmoe Elhay / Ted Nettelbeck Quartet will honour Errol in their concert and will include, in tribute, some pieces Errol liked to play.
