Jan:     We’ll celebrate women of early blues and jazz – singers born between 1880 and 1919: Mamie Smith, Bessie Smith, Lil Hardin Armstrong, Mildred Bailey, Ethel Waters among many others.

Brenton: The Archive has censored what I really wanted to say about my ‘Jazz Novelties’ which may well be naughty! So here’s a Warning: live banjo playing will be involved and socially acceptable drugs will be available at interval.
